Purple Flag Competition - Terms & Conditions

Dominion Road – Purple Flag promotion Terms and Conditions:
1. By participating in this Competition, you confirm that you accept and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
2. The Promoter is the Dominion Rd Business Association Incorporated (hereafter ‘DRBA’).
3. The Sponsor is Dominion Road Business Association.
4. The Competition is called “Purple Flag Dominion Road ”
5. The Promotional Period is 12:01am Sunday 1st June 2025 to 11:59pm Monday 30th June 2025..
6. There will be one draw. Winners will be notified by telephone and/or by email. If the winner(s) cannot be reached by email or telephone within three working days, the Promoter may redraw a new prize winner without liability to any person.
7. Information on prizes and how to enter form part of these Terms and Conditions of entry.
8. To enter the Competition, you must make a purchase of at least $10 at any participating business in the Dominion Rd Business Association area
(between Carrick Place and Landscape Rd) and retain your receipt. Only one entry is permitted per transaction.
9. You must complete all required fields on the online entry form to successfully enter.
10.You must provide valid contact details including your full name, email address, phone number, and upload your receipt online to successfully enter.
11.Proof of purchase must be kept by you and must be provided by winners to the DRBA if requested to redeem all prizes. Inability to produce proof of purchase may render the entry invalid and a new winner will be drawn.
12.Entrants can enter numerous times using receipts from unique purchases . Each entry must be submitted separately and each receipt must correspond to a different transaction with its own proof of purchase.
13.The Promotion is open to New Zealand residents only.
14.Entrants must be 18 years of age or older.
15.By entering the competition, you agree to share your entry information with DRBA to be used solely for marketing purposes, including adding you to the Promoter and Sponsors’ databases.
16.The prize winner(s) agree to allow the Promoter and Sponsors to photograph and film them and use their full name for marketing and publicity use without compensation.
17.The Promoter agrees to keep all personal details obtained via the Promotion confidential.

18.The Promoter agrees that such information may be used only by the Promoter and Sponsors after the Promotional Period.
19.The Promoter and Sponsors accept no responsibility for late or misdirected entries. Entries must be submitted through the online entry form to be considered valid.
20.The Promoter’s decision as to the winners is final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into in relation to the conduct of the Promotion or otherwise.
21.The prizes are not redeemable for cash and are non-transferable.
22.The Promoter and Sponsors accept no responsibility for a variation in the value of the prizes or the suitability of the prizes for its intended purpose and the winner accepts the prize on an ‘as is’ basis.
23.The Promoter and Sponsors accept no liability whatsoever for any loss, damage or injury whatsoever that may arise in any way from the use of the prizes or the conduct of the promotion.
24.The Promoter reserves the right to extend, postpone, or cancel this promotion and to update the Terms and Conditions at any time without notice.
25.Competition is intended to promote Dominion Rd Business Association members to members of the general public and as such is closed to owners, managers, employees, and contractors of the DRBA. Entries from these groups will be invalid.
26.Owners, managers, employees and businesses within Dominion Rd Business Association boundaries are not permitted to enter with purchases from their own businesses. They are permitted to enter if purchasing from a different business.
27.Entry into the competition is deemed confirmation that the entrant has necessary authority to enter the Promotion.
28.There is one prize and one winner. The person claiming the prize must be aged 18 or older.
29.The prize draw will occur on Tuesday 1st July and the prize winner notified.
30.The prize includes Return flights and accommodation for two for two nights to Sydney including transfers from Sydney Airport to Sydney CBD plus NZ$500
spending money. The prize must be booked by 30 November 2025 through Mondo Travel Mt Eden.
31.Any additional costs incurred by the prize-winner in taking the prize must be borne by the prize-winner and Dominion Road Business Association is not liable for any costs over and above the prize detailed above.

About Dominion Road

 

Dominion Rd is one of the most historic and iconic roads in Auckland. Made famous by the Muttonbirds in their song "Dominion Rd" (view video above) this famous strip runs from Eden Terrace in the north to Mt Roskill in the south.

The Dominion Rd Business Association represents some 200+ businesses in Dominion Rd and is a registered incorporated society. The Association is governed by a constitution* in partnership with Auckland Council under the Council’s Business Improvement District Policy. An Executive Committee is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Association and overall financial direction.

The boundaries of the Dominion Rd Business Association extend from approximately Onslow Road at the city end, to Balmoral Road along Dominion Road. A detailed map can be found on the right.

Visiting Dominion Road

Dominion Rd is less than 5km from the bottom of Queen Street and just 17km from Auckland Airport. 

Dominion Rd is a main route for buses and there is plenty of parking for those who choose to drive.

 

Parking

There is plenty of parking available on both Dominion Rd itself and on the surrounding streets.

On road parking is available at all times except between 7am to 10am on the western (city-bound) side of the road and between 4pm to 7pm on the eastern side while bus lanes are operating.

There is a large public parking area in the Eden Quarter area as well as on the side streets of bellevue Rd, Valley View Rd, Ewington Ave, Prospect Ave, Onslow Rd, Walters Rd, Bellwood Ave and Burnley Ave. 

In addition there is ample parking behind the Dominion Rd shops on the western side between Bellwood Ave and Walters Rd.

Public Transport

Dominion Road is a major public transport route that carries 50,000 bus passengers each week, making it one of the few roads in Auckland on which similar or greater numbers of people travel by public transport than by private car.

It is also very close to the Kingsland Railway station offering easy access for rail passengers.
